Terms of Service

The agreement between you and us for using the service.

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This document is a working draft written to cover the obvious ground. Before you take a single payment, have it reviewed by a lawyer qualified in Ghana, and register with the Data Protection Commission if you have not already.

Who we are and what this covers

These terms govern your use of the Cutline web application and the files it produces. By creating an account you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind that company.

Cutline is operated from Accra, Ghana. Contact details are on the contact page.

Your account

  • You must give accurate details and keep your password secure.
  • You are responsible for everything done under your login.
  • One login is for one person.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.

Your artwork stays yours

You keep all rights in the artwork you upload and in the output files generated from it. We claim no ownership over either.

We store your files only to run the service and to let you download them again. We do not use them to train machine-learning models, and we do not share them with third parties except the infrastructure providers needed to operate the service.

Your responsibility for what you upload

You confirm that you hold the rights to the artwork you upload, or have permission from whoever does. This matters: cut files are frequently produced from client-supplied artwork, including licensed characters and brand assets. Confirming those rights is your responsibility, not ours.

See acceptable use for what may not be uploaded.

What the service does and does not promise

The service generates cut paths from artwork according to the settings you choose. It reports what it finds — effective resolution, the artwork and page sizes, the number of cut paths and how many close, and any cut separation the artwork already carried — as information to help you decide.

It does not certify that a file will cut correctly on your machine. Blade offset, substrate behaviour, machine calibration and material handling are outside our control and remain your responsibility. Run a test cut before committing a production run.

Payment

This section is not in force yet. Billing is not switched on: there is no card form, no plan on an account and nothing charges. The service is free to use in the meantime, and what follows takes effect when that changes.

  • Paid plans will be billed in advance, monthly or annually.
  • Card payments will be processed by Paystack. We will not store card details.
  • Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice, and never mid-period.
  • Failed payment will suspend access after a grace period; your files remain available for download during it.

Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

Cancellation and termination

There is nothing to cancel today: no account carries a subscription, and there is no billing screen. Once there is one, you may cancel at any time from your account and access continues to the end of the paid period.

The service is not an archive: every job, its artwork and its output files are deleted 7 days after the job was created, whatever the state of the account, so download and keep anything you need.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the acceptable use policy. Where circumstances allow, we will give notice and an opportunity to put things right.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We are not liable for wasted material, machine time, missed deadlines or lost business arising from a cut file. This is why the test-cut requirement above is stated plainly rather than buried.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email and shown in the application at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction over any dispute.
